Repeat offenses: up to $1,000 fine, vehicle impoundment, and license suspension unless an SR-22 financial responsibility filing is kept for 2 years. Causing an at-fault accident while uninsured exposes the driver to personal liability for medical bills and property damage that insurance would otherwise cover.
