SR-22 in Texas (Spanish: SR-22 en Texas)
Spanish: SR-22 en Texas
Definition
SR-22 in Texas is a certificate of financial responsibility filed electronically by an insurance carrier with the Texas Department of Public Safety (TxDPS) on behalf of a driver to prove the driver maintains the state-required minimum 30/60/25 liability coverage. Texas requires SR-22 for 2 years after most violations and up to 3 years after DWI convictions, counted from license reinstatement date. SR-22 is not a separate policy — it is an attached filing.
