Definition
TxDPS Electronic Filing is the digital system used by Texas insurance carriers to submit SR-22 certificates of financial responsibility directly to the Texas Department of Public Safety. Filings are processed in real time — typically within 30 minutes of policy binding at A-LA. The system replaces paper SR-22 filings entirely. TxDPS uses the electronic record to determine driver compliance with Texas Transportation Code §601.072 and to authorize license reinstatement.
