Definition

30/60/25 refers to the three minimum liability limits every Texas driver must carry under Texas Transportation Code §601.072. The first figure, $30,000, is the maximum the policy will pay for bodily injuries to any one person in an at-fault accident. The second figure, $60,000, is the maximum the policy will pay for bodily injuries to all people in a single accident combined. The third figure, $25,000, is the maximum the policy will pay for property damage — typically another driver's vehicle or a structure like a fence or commercial sign. The format 30/60/25 is shorthand used by insurance carriers, agents, and the Texas Department of Insurance. These limits are not adjusted for inflation and are widely considered inadequate for modern DFW-area medical and repair costs, which is why most licensed agents recommend 50/100/50 or 100/300/100 instead.
