Comprehensive Coverage (Spanish: Cobertura Comprensiva)
Spanish: Cobertura Comprensiva
Definition
Comprehensive Coverage, called cobertura comprensiva in Spanish, is an optional auto insurance coverage that pays for damage to the insured driver's vehicle from causes other than collision — including theft, vandalism, hail, fire, flood, falling objects, animal strikes, and broken glass. Like collision, comprehensive applies after a deductible. It is not required by Texas law but is typically required by lenders when a vehicle is financed.
