About this role

Job Overview

We are seeking a hands-on, high-energy Learning & Development (L&D) Specialist with frontline sales and retail branch experience to lead training across our network of retail insurance agency locations.

In this role, you will build, deliver, and continuously optimize training programs that prepare retail agents and branch staff to run high-performing, compliant offices. You will translate direct sales tactics, customer walk-in service standards, local grassroots marketing, cash handling, and policy lifecycle workflows into practical, repeatable training systems that get new hires ramped fast and driving revenue.

What you will do

  • Onboard & Coach Sales Agents: Deliver hands-on training to new hires and existing staff on how to present coverage, handle objections, cross-sell, and close insurance policies.
  • Customer Service Standards: Train retail staff to greet every customer, walk-in, and coworker with enthusiasm and deliver an exceptional branch experience.
  • Outbound Sales & Lead Generation: Train and role-play outbound calling strategies—including cold calls, marketing promotions, policy renewal outreach, and payment reminder calls to prevent lapses.
  • Local Grassroots Marketing: Coach teams on community-level marketing: visiting nearby businesses to hand out flyers, building local referral partnerships, and running store promotions.
  • Store Operations & Procedures: Train branch staff on daily opening and closing procedures, facility security, and daily readiness across regional offices.
  • Cash Handling & Bank Deposits: Ensure staff follow strict cash management standards—processing customer premium payments, balancing cash drawers, reconciling daily receipts, and making secure bank deposits.
  • Paperwork & Compliance: Teach proper filing, document scanning, electronic uploading, and policy administration workflows to maintain audit-ready records.
  • Licensing Support: Mentor and guide non-licensed staff through the study materials and preparation required to earn their Personal Lines license.
  • Multi-Store Support: Travel between regional branch locations to provide desk shadowing, side-by-side coaching, and operational coverage when needed.

What we are looking for

  • Sales Experience: 2+ years of direct sales experience, preferably in retail insurance (non-standard auto/personal lines), retail banking, or storefront consumer finance.
  • Training / Leadership: 1+ years of experience training, onboarding, mentoring, or acting as an assistant manager/lead in a sales environment.
  • Operational Knowledge: Confident handling cash, balancing registers, making bank runs, and following opening/closing office checklists.
  • Phone & Field Confidence: Comfortable making outbound phone calls and conducting in-person business flyering.
  • Licensing: Active P&C or Personal Lines license, or the ability and willingness to obtain required state licensing within 60–90 days of hire.
  • Mobility: Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel to different office locations within the assigned region.
  • Bilingual (English / Spanish)
