About this role

We are hiring a Commercial Insurance Agent / Account Manager to handle both sales and day-to-day service for business clients. In this role, the agency provides your leads. You will contact interested business owners, help them choose the right business insurance—with a heavy focus on Commercial Auto—and stick with them as their dedicated agent for policy changes, certificates, and annual renewals.

This is a great hybrid role for someone who likes closing sales from warm leads while building lasting relationships through direct account management.

What you will do

  • What You’ll Do
  • Work Agency-Provided Leads: Reach out to warm, company-provided leads, gather their business information, and guide them from first call to bound policy.
  • Sell Commercial Auto & Business Coverage: Quote and sell Commercial Auto, General Liability, and other core business policies tailored to each client's vehicles and operations.
  • Service Your Book of Business: Act as the main point of contact for your assigned accounts—issue Certificates of Insurance (COIs), process policy endorsements, answer billing questions, and handle renewals.
  • Keep the Pipeline Moving: Follow up regularly with open quotes, pending applications, and prospective buyers who haven't made a final decision yet.
  • Spot Cross-Sell Opportunities: Review existing customer files to find missing coverage they need (such as adding tools/equipment coverage or an umbrella policy).
  • Coordinate with Carriers: Submit applications to carrier underwriting portals, meet carrier guidelines, and negotiate terms to get business approved and placed.
  • Stay Organized: Log notes, save documents, and track all policy activity in our agency management system to keep your desk running smoothly

What we are looking for

  • What We Are Looking For
  • License: Active State Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance License required.
  • Experience: 1–3 years of experience quoting, selling, or servicing commercial insurance (strong familiarity with Commercial Auto is a major plus).
  • Communication: Clear, friendly phone and email presence that puts business owners at ease.
  • Independent Worker: Comfortable managing your own daily tasks, following up on leads, and handling service requests without someone looking over your shoulder.
  • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using insurance rating engines, agency management software, and carrier portals.
  • Bilingual Spanish and English
